We are looking for a passionate SEN teacher to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Bolton. This position is perfect for a motivated educator who is eager to work with children with diverse and complex needs such as Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Persistent and Multidisciplinary Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
Key Responsibilities:
- Innovative Teaching: Design and deliver interactive, personalized lessons that help students develop independence, using multisensory approaches and activity-based learning.
- Specialized Techniques: Utilize communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, and AAC to support students’ communication and social interaction skills.
- Purposeful Environment: Teach in a school equipped with sensory rooms, therapeutic spaces, and expansive outdoor learning areas.
- Collaborative Support: Work closely with therapists and other professionals to create tailored learning programs that support the holistic development of each student.
- Family Collaboration: Engage with families to reinforce learning goals and promote life skills development beyond the classroom.
What You Need:
- Qualifications: QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification, with prior experience in Special Educational Needs being desirable.
- Creative Passion: A genuine enthusiasm for creating engaging, sensory-focused lessons.
- Communication Skills: Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or AAC will be an asset.
- Team-Oriented: patience and a collaborative approach to working with staff, therapists, and families.
